Busy November: Make use of online vehicle disc renewal, account payments
06 November 2025
City customers and motorists are encouraged to make use of online options to pay accounts and to renew their vehicle licence discs. If they have received a renewal SMS, motorists are urged to finalise the renewal sooner rather than later as November and December are the busiest months of the year. The Customer Interaction Centres experience a significant increase in visitors around this time of year as customers take the opportunity to renew licence discs and attend to other errands ahead of the end-of-year holiday period.
Reduce the hassle:
- Register for eServices
- Renew licences online
- Pay accounts via online payment options
- Book an appointment via the City’s website to reduce waiting times in the Customer Interaction Centres
- Make use of the City’s first drive-through vehicle disc renewal facility in Brackenfell
- Phone ahead to confirm what documents are required for a particular transaction

‘It is simple and efficient to renew a vehicle licence disc using the City’s process and if you have received an SMS all you need to do is to show the SMS to the customer agent. This message contains a link to the online booking system as well. Motorists can even book an appointment and receive a reference number within a minute on the City’s website. The reference number ensures motorists are assisted at a dedicated counter, reducing the time spent queuing.
‘The City introduced a drive-through renewal facility in Brackenfell two months ago. This unique service allows motorists to renew their licence from the comfort of their cars. We encourage motorists to renew their licences, avoid the rush and try one of the City’s new offerings. Over the next few months, we will explore additional drive-through facilities and other innovations to make the City the leading licensing and renewal agent.
‘Account services are also available online via eServices and payments can be made online. Account payments are absolutely vital to keep service delivery going and we thank each customer and ratepayer for their payments, especially amid the competing demands of the approaching festive season. To our residents going away, please ensure that your accounts are up to date so we can meet the service needs of our city,’ said the Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Councillor Siseko Mbandezi.
Brackenfell Vehicle Licence Renewal Drive-through: The drive-through operates on Mondays to Fridays from 10:00 to 18:00 and on Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00. Only card payments will be accepted at the Brackenfell Vehicle Licence Renewal Drive-through facility.
